Cheap self cleaning litter box: is there such a thing

I know everyone loves to buy cheap stuff so it is little wonder that there are a number of people looking to buy cheap self cleaning litter box.  However, does the market has such a product? The answer is yes and I going to review it today so you don’t have to go all over the Internet looking for it.

Omega Paw self-cleaning litter box review

Omega Paw self-cleaning litter box reviewThis cheap self cleaning litter box from Omega Paw will set you back for only USD20. If that is not cheap, I don’t know what is. Best of all, it is not an inferior product despite its low prices. On Amazon, it has more than 1999 reviews with an average rating of 4 stars.  This is very impressive results and show that a product can be both cheap and good.

Let’s get down to the details to see why folks are so positive about it.

The best thing about this litter box is that it works and does so without any fuss. Instead of using electric power and such, you roll the box manually and the litter will be nicely filtered. The waste will go into a scoop that lets you remove them easily. There is no more digging around or having smelly litter being scattered on the floor. Best of all, there are no worries about electric parts breaking down or burning out. It works beautifully by itself.

(Editor’s note: for the Omega Paw self cleaning litter box to work perfectly, please sure to use the firm clumping litter. They work very well with the rolling so buying them is almost a must if you are using this box)

Putting the litter box together was a breeze. The instructions are clear and there is no troublesome electric parts to take note of. Taking is apart for cleaning is easy as well. You simply life the top and wash the inside using whatever materials you like to use.

In terms of sizing, this litter box can fit a medium sized cat with no issues. For large cats, it all depend on the animal. Some large cats might find it too small while others may be ok with it.  However, to be on the safe side, I will not advise large cat owners to buy this.

Any downside?

No product is perfect so you should know what are some potential shortcomings of buying this.

One minor complaint is that you might waste more litter than necessary for this litter box to work effectively. If you put in too little litter, some of your cats might not like it. Put it too much and the rolling will likely catch some of the clean litter along with the dirty ones. In effect, you might be throwing out more clean litter than if you are doing the scooping yourself. If you think this is a major issue, then don’t buy it. However, if you are willing to sacrifice some clean litter for a more convenient way to clean up, then it shouldn’t be an issue.

There were also some feedback about the parts being broken easily. From personal experience, that depends on rough you are when doing the rolling. If you are gentle from tipping the box, there shouldn’t be any problems with it. Anyway, if any parts are broken, you can easily buy replacements from the official website.

Conclusion

A cheap and good product is not easy to find. Fortunately, if you want a cheap self cleaning litter box, then the Omega Paw is a good option. Although it is not really self cleaning per say as you still need to manually move it, the box do remove the steps for cleaning the actual litter. For that, I think this is a product worth considering.
